Tasks

Task 6.1 Integrated Matlab toolset for highly-complex networked control systems (HYCON2 Toolbox)

Partners:  IMTL / UNITN (Lead),  TUE,  TUDO,  ETH,  UVA,  UNIPV,  CNR,  UNIPD,  UNIVA,  UNIAQ

Following the succesful effort of HYCON in toolbox integration, HYCON2 will largely expand such an effort with respect to the following points:

  • - Integrate MATLAB/Simulink tools for analysis, design, and simulation of complex networked control systems.
  • - Cover spectrum “from infinitely large to infinitely small”:
    • - system-wide optimization of economic objectives;
    • - decentralization, networking issues;
    • - embedded control;
  • - Coordinate with on-going FP7 projects: WIDE, HD-MPC, E-PRICE, FEEDNETBACK, MODY-DIC, EMBOCON;
  • - Strongly linked to activities in WP5 "Benchmarks" and proof of concept studies AD1-AD3;

Moreover, a living wiki web page was created here with detailed informations regarding included softwares.

Task 6.2 Compositional Interchange Format (CIF)

Partners: UVA, TUE, TUDO, UNIVAQ

The Compositional Interchange Format (CIF) is a very general formalism for hybrid models that permits model transformation while preserving formal and compositional semantics. Under HYCON2 the following improvement will be developed:

  • - (User-defined) functions;
  • - Pure time delays;
  • - Graphical CIF models;
  • - Support for sequential algorithms;
  • -Transformations on the CIF;

Moreover a new version, namely CIF 2.0, will be developed accounting for the following points:

  • - Definition of a conceptual outline for co-simulation integration;
  • - Standardized interface for external functions/components;
  • - Demonstration;

For more information on the Compositional Interchange Format for hybrid systems (CIF), see:

  • The CIF 2 Trac website: http://devel.se.wtb.tue.nl/trac/cif. It contains information on version 2 of the Compositional Interchange Format, both for developers and end-users.
  • The CIF SeWiKi website: http://se.wtb.tue.nl/sewiki/cif/start. It contains information on version 1 of the Compositional Interchange Format, as well as publications on both versions of the Compositional Interchange Format.

All new development should preferably use version 2 of the CIF. Version 1 is considered deprecated.
